Baptism"Baptism is the door to life and to the Kingdom of God" (The New Rite of Baptism for Children). Through the celebration of baptism, the Christian community receives a new member. The effect of baptism is two-fold: incorporation into the faith community and incorporation into the life of God. Baptism should not be thought of merely in terms of a personal transformation from "a state of sin" to a "state of grace." Baptism not only makes a person a child of God, it also makes the person a brother or sister to all baptized believers.

The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated most Sundays at 1:00pm. An appointment is necessary. Please contact the rectory by email cincarnation@sbcglobal.net or by phone 860-529-2533.

The parents of children to be baptized should be registered members of Incarnation parish. Parents should also be living a sacramental life. The baptism of one's child is a special opportunity for parents to make a personal recommitment to the faith which they are obliging themselves to pass on to the newly baptized.
