The Rectory

Marriage is a sacrament. It demands a faith commitment. As a sacrament, it is an act of worship and an expression of faith in the Lord Jesus. It is a sign of the church's union with Christ.

All marriages must be scheduled at least six months in advance. Traditionally, marriages take place in the parish church of the bride. Either the bride, the groom or their parents must be registered members of the parish before wedding arrangements can be made.

Couples planning marriage must complete the Marriage Preparation Program of the Archdiocese of Hartford. A special booklet explaining this program may be obtained at the rectory.
