In 1983, the revised Code of Canon Law mandated the establishment of a Finance Council in every parish. The purpose of this council is to assist the pastorĀ in the fulfillment of his administrative and financial responsibilities. The council, whose members are appointed to a term of three years, offers advice in such matters as the ways and means of assuring adequate parish income, the investment of parish funds for safety and income, and the preparation of the parish budget.
