Incarnation Family Newsletter
January 2010

Dear Family,

May this year bless you and your family with peace and a deep desire to daily come to pray a prayer of thanksgiving for the God given gifts that we receive each day. As we experience the depth of winter, may we be reminded of how much our gentle God covers us with his love. May we always recognize His warmth in our lives and bring it to others.

Blessings,
Noranne Wamester
Pastoral Associate

A Christmas Blessing! Thank you to so many wonderful children, families and catechists who opened their hearts and did so many good works on behalf of our sisters and brothers in need. 26 turkey dinners were provided for the Town of Wethersfield. We also thank the faith formation elementary community who provided a Thanksgiving Dinner for our special family along with a very generous donation. We thank the seventh and eighth grade communities for preparing over 400 breads and goodie bags for the children at Kid’s Café. The retreat communities in the middle school responded so well under the leadership of Mrs. Gina Burby, Mrs. Filomena Marinelli and Mrs. Cathy Beers, and Mrs. Gina Zaino and the communities of Phyllis DiFiore and Regina Cravero Sister Kristen now feeds 400 children a day in Hartford.

The Advent Angel Tree was again another example of giving from the heart. Many churches and agencies were able to help those in their communities who have no means to provide for themselves or their families. This is what the season is all about. Thank you and as Tiny Tim said, “God bless us everyone.” Thank you to the Carcia family and members of our Confirmation community for your help with this outreach.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word is ready for a second semester. We are very grateful to Anne Camilliere, our coordinator. She is a very seasoned member of the presider team and brings a wonderful sense of commitment and energy to the ministry. The goal of Children’s Liturgy of the Word is to provide the young in our parish with a sense of welcome and belonging. It also provides them with a greater understanding of the scripture readings as the reflection is at their level of understanding. Ages 4yrs. through grade 3 meet in the hall and grades 4 through grade 6 meet on the stage. All return to the main church after the Prayers of the Faithful. We are very happy to welcome new presiders as are reflected on the new list of CLW dates. The ministry is just a beautiful testimony to the spirituality of our team and the true gift is that it is shared with our children. If you would like to inquire about becoming a part of the ministry, please call Noranne at 860-529-6765 and she will put you in touch with Anne Camilliere, the coordinator. Thank you.

First Reconciliation Parent Gathering will be held on Monday evening January 11, 2010 at 7:00pm. This will be an evening to reflect on the preparation process and prepare for the preparation for the Sacrament of the Eucharist. All parents of children receiving the Sacrament of Penance in 2010 are to be in attendance. This evening is for parents only, but if you do bring your child (ren) because of care giving issues, I will have coloring for them to do. Please let me know ahead of time so that I can arrange to have a few Confirmation candidates to stay with them.

First Reconciliation will be celebrated on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 9:45am.The snow date is Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the same time. Father Moran and I are very grateful to the catechists, parents for your role preparing the children for this beautiful sacrament.

The Eucharist is the center of our faith. We are so happy to see so many families worship together. Yet, many children tell us that they do not go to church. Please make attendance at Mass a priority in your family. It truly makes a difference. Jesus waits for each one of us to come and take him into our hearts.
