Prayer of the Faithful – Against Racism
Prayers adapted from resources provided by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) and Pax Christi.
- For our community, that we may receive the grace to see every human being as a child of God, regardless of race, language, or culture: let us pray to the Lord.
- For this faith community, that we may hear the call of our leaders to respond to the promptings of the Holy Spirit to act together to end violence and racism: let us pray to the Lord.
- For our community, we ask for the grace to look beyond our own prejudices, see the sinfulness of racism, and live out our obligation of loving God by loving our neighbors and seeking to overcome racism: let us pray to the Lord.
- For our Church and nation, that we will embrace the hopes and fears of oppressed People of Color where we live, as well as those around the world: let us pray to the Lord.
